Gobi Desert
A quarter of all dinosaurs found on earth were found in Gobi. It is here that the magnificent velages and singing sands are adjacent to winding canyons resembling their red-orange fire. And over all of this you can fly with Panorars Airpano.
Gobi is one of the greatest deserts of the world. Stranded by a huge strip on more than 1,500 km from the northern part of China to Southeast Mongolia, it covers the area, equal to the United Kingdom, France, Spain and Portugal together: 1.3 million km 2 .
The word "say" in Mongolian means "anhydrous place", but Gobi is not only one desert: its landscape is quite diverse. High Barhaned Sands cover only 3% of Gobi territory. Its part of it is occupied by extensive stony and clay empty, steppe plains, scenic rocky mountains, extensive basins with rare oases, small-scale, salt marshes, canyons. Gobi desert climate – sharply continental. Annual temperature difference extremal and compare with the famous pool of the cold – Oymyakon in Yakutia. Winter here is very cold (up to -50 ° C) and accompanied by the strongest wind, and summer is exclusively roast (up to +55 ° C).
Residents of the country are very friendly, always willingly go to contact and are ready to help in the most difficult situation. However, almost all of them – not excluding those who live in Ulan Bator – almost do not know foreign languages, even English or Russian.
A little about the kitchen: the concept of "quickly eat" from the Mongols is available only in large cities, and in the provincial zoogiine Gazars (cafe) or Taynya Gazars (dining) with you will begin to cut meat, cook soup, sculpt bucks and so on. All fresh and tasty, but plan to spend the minimum hour and a half.
Under the "dear" in the desert they understand the "direction". Traveling on one car is unsafe: In the case of even the most insignificant breakage, you risk staying without help. Saksaoul’s thickets may well damage tires. And when traveling to a remote and rough terrain for reinsurance is desirable for the presence of three prepared SUVs.
Canyon Harmanzav (Translated – "Ruffy Rocks") with sheer rocks from red sandstone stretches for 20 km and amazed with its majestic beauty, reminding the famous Grand Canyon on the Colorado Plateau. In his "architecture", every traveler, as if when viewed by the spots of Rorshach, sees something of his own: it is both Buddhist stupas, both Christian temples, and monumental fortress walls, and whole ancient worst ensembles. One of the weathered "sculptures" was called Sphinx. Before entering the canyon, right in the middle of the road can not not notice the milled "Tugry Tree", where travelers can leave symbolic gifts – 100, 200 or 500 tugres.

Gobi – True Storage Dinosaurs. In 1925, in the Red Sandings of Bayanzag, the expedition participants from the US Natural History Museum found numerous skeletons of various dinosaurs and whole masonry of their petrified eggs. In 1946, the Paleontological Expedition of the USSR Academy of Sciences under the guidance of the famous writer and the paleontologist of the professor and.A. Efremova opened the richest location of the giant dinosaurs in Namegate, the largest in the old world. In total, about 80 dinosaur skeletons of more than 60 types were found in Mongolia, which constitutes the fourth part of all fixed finds of dinosaurs in the world. Shooting was conducted in the area Hermanzava’s mouths. In the chalk period, the terrain inhabited a large number of protoceraptos – a small size of the vegetative four-legged dinosaurs. Their numerous fossils fill the territory until now.
Singing Sands Hongoryan Els – Next stop. This is a long strip of sand dunes up to 300 m high, from 3 to 15 km wide and a length of about 180 km. When looking at Hongoryan-ELS, it seems that some world manager brought a huge amount of sand and carefully poured it – it looks so unusual in the rocky desert. In the twilight, the majestic sand veryans acquire an extraordinary relief. This is a world where there are clear lines conducted by the border between the dark and light side. But if you want, you can break this flawless line, going through the edge, and the comb will take another, but as a clear drawing.
Bayanzag sandy canyons (literally translates as "Saksaul") – the final stage of the expedition. Very often, the canyons are called "flaming rocks" for the incredible red-orange color of sand. Wind erosion reveals the thickness of the colorful sandstone and compressed dense clays, and during the storm rains they are blurred by the current waters. If not rare shrubs and herbs, then you might think that these are Martian landscapes.
In these places in the late 40s of the twentieth century, a paleontological expedition worked, which Ivan Efremov was headed. Here’s how he described these places: "And yet nothing has been comparable, a completely fantastic picture represented a brand in the evening, ten minutes before the sunset. Round cliffs of ancient sandy deposits made by the wind of ancient sandy deposits. It seemed that the whole brand turned into a sea of fire. This unexpected effect was explained simply: the rays of the setting sun illuminated the ancient red color sandstones of the walls of the brand and remains, creating a completely real representation "flaming rocks"". Isn’t these fantastic, "alien" beauty inspired science fiction writer to the creation of the novel "Nebula Andromeda"? And now it is possible to virtually get acquainted with "cosmic" landscapes on Earth.
