The Lahr is located in eighty kilometers to the northeast of Tehran, close to Highway Haraz, on the slopes of the highest in Iran Mountain, Damavanda. The Lar Reserve is called a terrain that occupies an area of 73,000 hectares and at an altitude of approximately 2900 meters above sea level. This area borders in the north of Nur mountains in Mazandaran, in the south – with heights of Lavasan, in the West – with heights of Barsang, Sheipurg, Dzhanston, and in the East – with Mount Damavand and Plorm District. In the area there is a cold mountain weather. Long frosty winter in it starts from the middle of autumn and continues until the middle of the spring, and the summer there is a short and cool. The duration of the cold and the absence in this area of favorable agricultural conditions has caused the absence of populated areas there. However, all climatic indicators, such as temperature, humidity, pressure, precipitation, and even the wind from the last days of April to the last days of September reach the most moderate level. Therefore, the terrain that seems sad and monotonous in winter, the spring is transformed. Red poppies appear from a bad way to Laro. There are so many of them that the road itself acquires a reddish hue. Fots of the mountains are covered with yellow flowers. When the wind blows, nature fans can enjoy the movement of this brown multi-minded imagination.

Lar Valley 60 and 6-7 km wide is located on the central heights of the Elbecus Range. The Lar River, over which one-sided dam is built, gives this area a special painting. Various types of steppe plants, shrubs and medicinal herbs grow in the valley. In the summer, it turns into a beautiful green field, where various animals live, including a bigger ram, sheep, leopard, boar, fox, jackal, 97 species of birds, insects. In the Lar Reserve meets a golden eagle, an exceptionally rare bird. However, the fans of the nature of Lar are most likely its trout, or rather one of its rare varieties.

The Lar River originates from the snowy mountains Clone Bastak Three thousand meters high. This pretty fast river in the late spring is even stormy in southeast. On the way, small rivers are poured into it, so the river is becoming more and more. On both shores it is located natural meadows and pastures, which stop nomadic tribes living near Tehran. The winding bed of the Lar River gives the area picturesque character. Every five kilometers from the west, new species open to the east.

The largest river, which is poured into the lar of the latter, is called Delia. The dwarf flender of the LAR high 150 meters above the river level forms Lake Lake.

The coolness and painting of the lake contributed to the development of fisheries and water sports there, including swimming and water skiing. This terrain has become one of the most favorite holiday destinations Tehranians. Given the fact that Lake Lar is in relation to the river bed at high altitude, it can be considered one of the highest lakes in the world. It should be noted that the championship of this indicator retains the lake Titicaca in Peru, located at an altitude of 4200 meters above sea level.
