Madrid – Corrida, Football, Hamon and not only

Most tourists visit Spain in the summer months and mainly with the goal of a beach holiday. We went there in winter and clearly not swim, but rather for walking, visiting cultural attractions and football (well, it is for me).
The weather in Madrid was soft enough and warm for February of the month, on average there was 14-16 degrees and without precipitation. Despite the fact that in the afternoon the sun as he warmed the substituted back – Nature has not yet thought to wake up.

On the streets of Madrid

The first thing that rushes into the eyes is a fairly tight traffic and a lively car movement. In most cities in Europe who had a chance to visit somehow did not think even, and then sometimes the feeling that at home, somewhere in the garden.

On the other hand, this is evidence that the Spaniards moved to Seside to the background and at least in the capital are engaged in the work and other employment.

These days, Madrid covered protests and strikes. Over the course of several days, the garbage mountains (especially in the center) have been copied during the agers of public utilities, the offices of the Bank of Santander were attacked by Vandals. During our walk, purely accidentally reached the building of the Central Bank of Spain and the Palace of Communications.

In the center of the circular motion between the Palace of Communications and the Central Bank there is a fountain Siblez. If you believe the local one, it is under it that is a repository with a golden reserve of Spain. Maybe it is and so (it is believed with difficulty of course), but the fountain itself is already beautiful.

One of Madrid’s symbol is the metropolis building at the intersection of Gran Via and Alcala. For its construction, seven other buildings were demolished. His construction was associated with the desire to modernize, it happened at the beginning of the 20th century.

In the capital of Spain there is a residence of the king, as well as a large number of squares dedicated to the royal family.

Separately, I would like to note Plaza Mayor – one of the main squares of the city and which (surprisingly) protesters went around the party. Located numerous cafes, restaurants and souvenir benches.

Royal Palace

The official residence of the Kings of Spain is located in the western part of the city. Juan Carlos I, however, did not live in a residence, but only attended during the official ceremonies.

Opposite the entrance to the palace is the Cathedral of Almuden.

We were limited to an external inspection and a small walk in the internal territory. The throughput system to the palace is quite rigid, and in a compartment with a lot of tourists a queue and the thrust, which I wanted to avoid.

Retiro Park

Green Madrid and Favorite Recreation Place Madridtsev – All this is applied to Retiro Park.

Despite the fact that in the yard of winter, the park pleased with a lot of blossomed greenery, freshness and atmosphere of calm. In the ponds a large number of ducks and geese and one sad cat was seen.

Previously, the park was located in close proximity to the Palace of King Philip IV, but later the palace suffered a lot and was demolished. Currently, in the architectural plan, the park may be pleased with the Crystal Palace.

Park area is very big, but it is unlikely that someone will put on behalf of all – here it is necessary to come here in order to distract from the fuss and spend time in a family or friends.

Las Vents

Corrida – an integral part of the history and culture not only Madrid, but also all of Spain. Arena for Corrida are located in most cities in Spain. The main and central arena Madrid is Las Ventas.

Recently, you can still hear the protests of the advocates of animals about the cruelty of the battleship of the bulls, to which they are responsible – the Matador risks no less than a bull and in this case it is about art, because Matador moves gracefully and harmoniously as in ballet, and Not each of them finishes the battle of the murder of the bull, thus deserving the respect and love of the audience.
There are many disputes, but the opponents and defenders must agree – this is part of the culture and history that must be stored and transmitted from generation to generation.

Near the Arena there are several monuments and monuments. One of them is devoted to the dead graduate of the Madrid School of Matadorov Jose Kubero (known among the people like Jiyo).
The monument represents two sides of this difficult profession – here everything turns out, the bull is defeated in a fight and a crowd.

One mistake and mighty ferocious bull will use her and only heaven will mourn you, while the crowd finds himself a new idol.

On an excursion inside the arena, only in the group. While waiting for the moment when the group is scored, we take a small walk to other monuments located at the Arena.

On the wall depicts a composition from the flock of bulls – one of them can notice the bronze horns shine. Everyone wants to hang on them (the bull head is located about two meters above the Earth). It would seem – not everyone is enough sprouting, but apparently the desire to grab the bull for the horns insurmountable.

So our group has been formed and we go to look at the arena from the inside. All start on the stands, searmed and the main disappointment for most tourists is a protective film over sand. How we explained to us a guide – this is done in order to preserve the quality of the sand during the offseason.

An interesting element of the excursion can be noted that everyone has explained and showed what is called Matador depending on the type of battle with the bull. A lot of new names added to the usual picadora.

After a detailed story about the hard work of Matadorov, all the students showed a stuffed typical bull for Corrida, several legends told and soldered up with us at the entrance to the souvenir shop and the museum. The main thing is to get out later from the arena, because the number of corridors, turns and doors to the courtyard gives rise to get lost.

Cemetery Almudena

It would seem – why a person go to the cemetery? The fact is that in most European cities to death relate a little differently, and in general the cemeteries do not look something forbidden or awesome. Another time to disturb the dead for nothing, but sometimes you can not refuse to go to go and look at the place of resting someone from the great figures of culture or historical personalities. In this case, attention was drawn to two monuments – one of them was found literally immediately, and the second had to look for some time.
The first of them is dedicated to Division Azul (Blue / Blue Division) – Divisia of Spanish Volunteers, who fought on the side of Germany during World War II. It is noteworthy that most of them ringed in Novgorod forests and swamps. Spaniards calmly belong to this page of their history and judging by purity and fresh colors – honor their heroes. Their case.

Bratsk grave, which I had to look for some time – these are the fighters of the Legion "Condor", who fell in battles for Spain. Legion Fighters were help from Hitler for Franco to win the Civil War. Most of the legion fighters were pilot. The names specified in this fraternal burial also testify to this. Almost all died in battles for the Escorial.

Noteworthy is the fact that just a few years ago a memorial plate looked different. The authorities do everything so that nothing testifies to the presence of German fighters. Every trip in Europe I try to visit such places – on the one hand, part of the story, whose party did not belong to people whose memory is immortalized, and on the other hand, to make analogies with how we followed the monuments, monuments and brotherly graves and there, where people lie whose "feat" Very dubious in the opinion of the story years.

Station Atoche

During the story about the trip to Toledo, I mentioned this station as a starting point and promised to return to him separately.
Atoca Station – the largest and one of the oldest stations of Spain. Atkha is one of the largest railway assemblies of the country and, unfortunately, is sadly known for the 2004-year terrorist attacks when about 200 people were killed.
Inside the station did everything so that no tension was not felt and the most important thing is a green zone with a pond, in which countless fish and turtles.

Their tastes

If during a trip to Spain, you did not try Hamon or Pael, it is not clear why you went there at all. Many do not like the smell of Hamon, but it is necessary to sniff it, but there is. This delicacy is served everywhere and sell literally everywhere. How many times have I seen these views in supermarkets when travelers seem to look at the beautiful prices for a big hammer of this adorable meat and understand that bring it to their homeland will be extremely inconvenient.

Madrid - Corrida, Football, Hamon and not only

With Palelia, the situation is a bit different. Many where I had to try until I left it in the institution called La Chulapa de Alcala, which is located on C / De Alcalá 35 near the Bank of Spain and 10 minutes from Retiro Park. Here Paella was not only big and very tasty, but at a good price. For the past three days we went to dinner only here and never regretted.

Mercado de San Miguel – the original market where the fiction and fresh seafood, in a compartment with Hamon and Serveza, and scream – Buy me, buy. The place is cozy and cute, but generally more tourist, actually and prices.

However, everything looks very cozy and beautiful. On the sandwich with Hamon, no matter how cool, but you have to go broke.

I have heard more than once about the existence of such a kind of snack as a tapas, but I fully felt that in the evening on the way from Sol Sol, we went to one institution (La Cueva), where I immediately liked the bartender (and the administrator as it turned out) a very shustroma man in years with dark hair and eyes. The features of his face were pronounced and he was constantly broken up in a smile, a small height and a slim body allowed him to sink so quickly between the tables, which even do not have time to notice how he has already brought a cup of cold beer, or a glass of wine. And here, sitting on a small table at the bar rack, we made an order – beer and a glass of wine, right there we had a sliced baguette and hamon on the table. Here, the true meaning of the tradition of filing a small snack called Tapas – historically developed in such a way that, by the decree of the king, it was accepted that the innkeepers need to serve a snack to the guilt so that the soldiers were not drunk, and since it had to do it for free, they did it very little. Feeling fully welcoming this institution, we returned to it several times in the evenings and on the eve of departure. Each coming was accompanied by a turbulent and cheerful reaction of this man who shouted by envying me on the threshold – Only engliiiish. Come. The fact is that when he started to burst in the first visit, he had to stop his phrase in Spanish, he laughed, his wife, speaking in Spanish, talked to him and made us an order, but he remembered this my phrase.

Royal Club

The very first point of visiting for us was the Stadium of Madrid Real – Santiago Bernabeu.

Real is one of the most famous and rich clubs of the world, the number of trophies and individual awards of the players – a huge. Even if you are far from football anyway, you should visit this place and penetrate the history of this club and its traditions.

At the very beginning of the excursion, we are offered to enjoy the panorama of the stadium.

Next follows halls with trophies, shape and advances in the club throughout history.
The bench indicates the number of won trophies during the existence of a football and basketball real.

The following are elements of the equipment of the players and the concept of development of a football form during the time, all this in the company won trophies.

A separate hall is devoted to the legend of Real and World Football – Alfredo di Stefano. During many years, this player defended the colors of the Royal Club, a significant contribution to the victory in many tournaments was made, recognized as the best players in Europe and the world and later remained working in the structure of the Club.

So the line reached the hall dedicated to the modern stage – here the individual awards of the stars of the 90s and modern times, boots and gloves signed by their owners are collected, well, and the main decoration is the Champions League Winner Cup.

Plates for visitors indicating the direction of movement, bring us to the lower tier of the stadium and allow you to go down to the lawn.

Notable is the fact that today a football match will be held here, and the people still lazily walk in the stadium and museum chairs.
How many legendary football players and coaches were on these chairs over the past 10 years, probably, and you will not say right away.

Excursion comes to an end and finally, of course, the commercial component is a picture treated in Photoshop with Ronaldo, the European Champions Cup and all this joy of about 20 euros per piece. After, at the exit, you find yourself in the store with a club attribute. Here, of course, I replenish my collection. I would like to celebrate one unpleasant moment – in the plans from the club’s leadership there is a Wakkhania on the spilling of a cross with a crown adorning the emblem. The fact is that such a manual expects to start earning more money in Muslim countries. One of the richest clubs in the world is going to disperse a gift of the king in order to earn more – blasphemy is not different. Do not earn all money.

Afterword

About Madrid I can tell a lot and long, but everything will not be able to transfer, and the article is limited to a certain number of characters, so it is necessary to complete the story. The main art galleries of Spain – Prado and the Tissren Museum – Borneyssee deserve a separate mention, but it is better to see all with their own eyes. Prado will delight the collection of famous masters, both Spanish and other European schools, but all this must see – the photo is prohibited.
Rich cultural heritage is felt on the streets and squares, the heroes of Cervantes are immortalized on Spain Square, over which the sitting writer rises.

Spain is not only the beaches, waves and the sun, and above all the rich history and traditions that can be found in almost all cities of Spain, but nowhere will not know the history of this country as in the capital.
